Obtaining your visa
In order to be allowed to study in Germany, you will require a student visa, which must be issued by the German embassy or the German consulate in your home country. As the requirements differ from country to country, please refer directly to the German embassy in your home country for valid information!
Applicants from EU countries do not need a visa.
It is important that you enter Germany with the right visa. Please be aware that visa differ depending on the purpose of your stay in Germany. For working purposes (e.g. if you have a contract of employment) a working visa is needed. For study purposes (e.g. if you receive a scholarship) you must apply for a study visa.
