Pillar III – Initiating Research Units
The third pillar of the innovation initiative is designed to expand and deepen the areas of excellence. Medium sized collaborations help to establish so-called priority research topics, i.e., cross-disciplinary collaborations.
The priority activities focus on bundling core competencies and creating a network of research institutes. They are also meant to facilitate the initiation and support of coordinated externally funded projects such as special research or graduate programs.
