Postgraduate Distance Studies

The Distance and Independent Studies Center at TU Kaiserslautern offers one of the leading distance learning programs in Germany. The DISC web pages provide comprehensive information about your program and how to enroll.

For the enrolment to the English-language Masters distance education programmes ("Software Engineering for Embedded Systems" and "Nanotechnology") a sufficient proof of English proficiency is necessary. These can be evidenced by:

-an English-language first degree
-Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): C1
-Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (CPE): Grade C
-IELTS: 6.0
-TOEFL computer: 213
-TOEFL Paper: 550

Early admissions

You may apply for early admission by completing, printing, and returning the online application. Send the completed application with the required supporting documents prior to the application deadline to the address shown below:

If you have completed your Abitur, enclose the following documents with your application:

  • University entrance qualification (Abitur, graduation certificate, diploma, undergrad certificates from a university applied science, other proof of completed university and state exams, etc.).
  • Proof of health insurance (please read the special notes in this pamphlet).
  • Postal stamp worth 1.45 euros.
  • Photo

 

If still attending a secondary school, the following documents are required:

  • As a minimum, the mid-year report from your junior year (grade 11/1).
  • A written, positive recommendation from your school leadership, which highlights any special talents.
  • A written, positive review by the faculty of the program you wish to attend.
  • Resume (CV)
