Allocation by lottery
If, at the end of the centralized allocation process, a university has not filled its capacity or still has vacancies in a course of study, the university conducts its own lottery to assign the remaining places to German and foreign applicants.
An informal, written request to participate in the lottery should include the choice of degree programme and individual data with address and be sent in the period from 15 September to 15 October (winter semester) or, from 15 March to 15 April (summer semester).
