Confirmation of receipt and certificate...
As soon as the university receives your application, a notice will be sent to you confirming the receipt of your documents.
Together with this confirmation notice, you will find a request for payment of the certificate assessment fee of € 50.00.
This fee should be paid promptly as your documents will only be processed after receipt of this payment. You will be promptly notified of the results of this document audit.
The payment of this fee does not automatically constitute acceptance for admission.
Document audit
Your certificates and documents will be reviewed and evaluated after receipt of the fee payment.
The important thing about this audit is to determine whether your certificates are equivalent to the German abitur. If this is the case, you have a valid university entrance qualification. Other cases are evaluated to determine whether the applicant can attend the prep courses at the Studienkolleg.
A notification will be sent to you if you are required to attend preparatory classes or the German language classes prior to beginning your degree studies.
More information about the prerequisites for admission such as the university entrance qualification and your German language ability is provided here.
Acceptance
You will receive a letter of acceptance to one of the open enrollment programs if you submit your complete application correctly and in a timely manner and meet the prerequisites for admission. In the case of limited enrollment programs, the number of study places is restricted. Of these available study places, 8% are allocated to foreign applicants. The allocation of the remaining places is based on merit. In the admissions process for citizens of EU member states, the waiting time and hardship rules apply in same manner as for applicants with German educational certificates (more information here).
You will be notified of the decision about whether you are accepted or not following a review and evaluation of your certificates.
