Allocation of study places

Open enrollment programs (= those without a limit on the number of students): A letter of acceptance for a study place in the open enrollment programs will be sent if you meet the prerequisites for the program and you apply correctly and in a timely manner to TU Kaiserslautern.

Limited enrollment programs (= those with a limited number of students): In the event that the fixed number of study places for a certain study program is sufficient to accommodate all the applications received, then all applicants will be accepted for the respective course.

However, when the number of applicants for a course of study in one semester exceeds the number of study places, the allocation of study places is governed by procedures established by law (Studienplatzvergabeordnung).

This includes the so called special quotas for hardship cases, foreign applicants, second degree applicants, and applicants with special university entrance qualifications.
