Withdrawal from an Examination

Withdrawal from an Examination

You can withdraw from an examination without stating a reason if you keep to the deadlines as defined in the examination regulations for your course of studies (see below).

Take heed of the following though:

  • Comply with the deadline

  • In most cases, you can withdraw using QIS – please use this option. If this option is not available, for example, if it is a repeat exam, please use the other options as mentioned below.

  • If you are obligated to take the exam because of the examination regulations of your course of studies, not attending the exam will mean you fail the exam. For example: rules about repeat exams; deadlines for registration of first attempts.

Important: If you are unable to withdraw through QIS or if there is an error message, immediately contact the Office of Examination Affairs. If there is an error message, please send us a screenshot.

It is also possible to withdraw from an exam by coming to our office during office hours or by submitting a written note of withdrawal. In both cases, please use the withdrawal forms, provided by us outside of our offices (building 47, 3rd floor, on the table beneath the mailboxes) or you can print out the form here . You can send the form by post or drop it in the big university mailbox outside building 47 or in our mailboxes on the 3rd floor (also building 47). If you do send the form by post, please be aware that some examination regulations specify the submission deadline as the date when the form must arrive here at the Office of Examination Affairs while some specify it as the date of the postal services date stamp (check the examination regulations for your course of studies). To make sure that you comply with the withdrawal deadline, you can also send us an email (from your RHRK-address), then later (asap) hand in the written form or come to our office an sign a print-out of your email.

There may be additional details to consider depending on the examination regulations of your course of studies. For more information, contact the responsible staff member directly at the Office of Examination Affairs.

Withdrawal deadline

The date of receipt determines the official request date. You may use the mailbox at Building 47 (observe deadline) or the wooden box located at the Office of Examination Affairs to post your request for withdrawal.
