Senate

The Senate is one of the university’s central organs. It is responsible for looking after all matters that pertain to the university, considered as a whole, insofar as nothing else has been defined. Such matters include:

  • Enactment of the bylaws,
  • Election of the president and the vice president,
  • Positions on proposals for appointments of university teaching staff,
  • Resolutions on setting up courses of study
  • Preparation of the overall development plan for the university.

The Senate is chaired by the president of the university. Of the remaining 22 members with the right to vote, twelve come from the group of the university teaching staff, four from the groups of students, four from the group of academic employees and two from the group of non-academic employees.

The period of office is three years for the non-student members and one year for the student members.
