Objectives and Tasks

 

The Center for Commercial Vehicle Technology (ZNT) is an interdisciplinary platform for commercial vehicle specific research, technology and service at the University of Kaiserslautern. The main objective of ZNT is to strengthen the core competence in the field of commercial vehicle technology in Kaiserslautern by ensuring a consistent and coordinated communication process between the working groups of the University of Kaiserslautern and connected technology transfer centers and institutes. Through the integration of the research activities of the various disciplines, Commercial Vehicle Technology is established as a research and technology center at the University of Kaiserslautern.

Companies benefit from the ZNT as a central point of contact for commercial vehicle specific research and development issues. To request for research contracts or collaborative projects with interdisciplinary content, ZNT can be approached directly. The ZNT works together with the already existing Commercial Vehicle Cluster (CVC) and is a member of the Commercial Vehicle Alliance (CVA).

To fulfill these objectives, the Center for Commercial Vehicle Technology performs the following tasks:

  • Coordination of commercial vehicle specific research and technology transfer activities at the University of Kaiserslautern 

  • Publicity regarding commercial vehicle specific research and technology transfer activities at the University of Kaiserslautern, such as conducting regular seminars and workshops on selected topics 

  • Initiating and coordinating interdisciplinary research and technology transfer projects at the University of Kaiserslautern 

  • Introduction of professional skills of the chairs and working groups of the University of Kaiserslautern in the project groups of Commercial Vehicle Cluster Southwest
