Workshop: "Dealing with Conflicts at University"

During their studies, students may face different kinds of conflict situations: Problems with other
students in the context of teamwork, as well as difficulties with lecturers and professors regarding
for example grading or support. Conflicts are often accompanied by strong emotions as anger and
cost much energy. However, conflicts are also opportunities for change, if solved constructively. In
this workshop, different kind of conflicts at University are used as starting points for searching constructive
conflict solutions.
The participants will learn...
- to reflect their own behavior in conflict situations like discussing with the professor or fellow students
- to know theoretical background of conflict management, for example the types of conflicts and typical conflict dynamics
- to deal constructively with criticism and to deal with the own emotions in conflicts
- to use their knowledge about conflicts to conduct conflict conversations
