Orientation & Language

Foreign students in international Master or PhD Programs, graduate schools as well as in PhD studies are nolonger obliged to pass a special exam (DSI exam; DSI = Deutsche Sprachprüfung für Studierende in internationalen Studiengängen) after the first year of their studies although the ISGS strongly recommend to participate in German courses.

To facilitate your studies and daily life, the ISGS offers an 'Orientation Course' (O.K.) as an integrated intensive language courses at the beginning of your studies: Summer course starts in August (and lasts for 8 weeks), spring course starts in March (and lasts for 6 weeks). The courses will continue during lecture time (twice a week in the evening).
