General Requirements

The admission requirements vary depending on the program of study.

The application papers request that you provide evidence of the general requirements.

The requirements for a Ph.D.  program are the following:

• A Master's degree or equivalent evidence of postgraduate education
• Evidence of fulfilling language requirements (depending on program of study)

Language Requirements

You need to clarify with your department or your advisor which language skills are necessary for a doctorate. However, the ISGS strongly recommend to participate in German courses althought it is no longer requiered for continuing your study after the 2 semester.

This does not apply to PhD students who are employed by a department of the University and who are hence not actually enrolled!
