Pakistanischer Abend – 2014
Pakistani Student Association, Kaiserslautern (PSA-KL) arranged the 2nd Pakistani evening (Pakistanischer Abend-2014) at TU Kaiserslautern, Germany. The event was attended by about 200 guests from around 32 countries. This year’s theme was Know Pakistan through its Culture and Tourism. This event was the biggest event ever arranged by any Pakistani organization at Kaiserslautern.
Guests were greeted with Milk with Rooh Afza at the entrance. The event started with the national Anthem of Pakistan (the most melodious national anthem in the world). A short but colorful presentation about diverse yet rich Pakistani culture was given by Ms. Rukhsana Kausar (PhD student, Mathematics) and Syed Moiz Hassan (a young Masters student, Computer Science).
This year, Prof. Dr. Karsten Berns was our special speaker at the event, where he shared some of his experiences about his recent visits to Pakistan. We are highly grateful to him for his time and kind words.
The second aspect of our theme — the tourism — was covered with a lot of beautiful posters. Presenters at posters explains about tourism places in all five Pakistani provinces.
Then there were a lot of stalls for our guests to know more about culture and daily lives of Pakistanis. These stalls include stall of traditional clothes where guests tried Pakistani outfits. On Henna and bangles stall, our female volunteers put beautiful designs of Henna to guests’ hands. Another stall was about “How Islam influences the culture of Pakistan”, where traditional items like ‘Miswak’, ‘Ittar’, ‘Surma’, ‘Tasbeeh’, ‘Jaye-Namaz’, etc. were on display with informative pamphlets about Islam. Then there is a stall on Carpet weaving that displayed how hand-made Pakistani carpets are made. There was also a game of Carom, where guests were introduced to this popular Asian-origin game and they got the chance to play with Asian masters.
At the end of the ceremony, some beautiful animations from our young star Urooj Faisal were shown that she prepared for this event.
At the end, traditional Pakistani delicacies were served to let our international friend know about rich and spicy Pakistani foods. People were really very happy to see the true image of Pakistan and were all-praising for Pakistani culture and Pakistani people.
