Welcome to the International School for Graduate Studies (ISGS)

The ISGS is part of the Distance and International Studies Center (DISC) and has been established to foster the university’s excellence in research-based and application-oriented graduate studies and doctoral training. 
It is a university-wide umbrella organisation which promotes internationally attractive, high quality Master and PhD programmes - many of them are top ranked.


The quality marks of our graduate education are: Innovation, interdisciplinarity, scientific excellence, close linkage to affiliated research institutes and to industry as well as labour market and societal relevance, and last not least an international dimension.

An international and intercultural ethos shapes the atmosphere of our modern and inviting campus, situated on the edge of the Palatine Forest, a famous UNESCO biosphere Reserve.
