All images below were rendered with the Metropolis Light Transport algorithm, which has been extended to handle participating media.

Candlestick Theatre

The difficulties arise from 102 lightsources and the varity of surface properties.

Invisible Date

The room is entirely illuminated by indirect light passing through the half-open door. The scene contains diffuse, glossy and transparent objects.

Note the caustic from the glass ball and the reflections on the floor.

Stiftskirche

The scene consists of more than 240,000 geometrical primitives. For the night illumination of the model more than 700 area light sources (diffuse and spot lights) were used.
