Excursion to coal-fired power plant Mannheim (GKM)

In the middle of the metropolitan region Rhein-Neckar the “Grosskraftwerk Mannheim AG” (GKM) generates power for over 2.5 millions of people, industry and district heat for 120,000 homes. Furthermore the DB energy Ltd purchases approximately 15% of the German traction electricity from the GKM.
In May 2015 unit 9 was launched which made the GKM the largest power plant in Baden-Wuerttemberg. It’s a significant location for supply reliability in southern Germany.

The guided tour usually is presented in German.
