The power grid is collapsing.
Industry, public authority, public life are paralyzed.
People are taken back to 19th century and try to survive.
Fear, chaos and violence are spreading.
A scenario to be read in books. But fiction can come true.
If a blackout really happend, the power grid has to be restored as fast as possible. This is the topic of our first exciting presentation this year:
System safety and reconstruction of a power grid – Operator Support Tools for reconstruction after a blackout in Germany.
The presentation is held by Prof. Wellßow and some of his staff members. In the beginning we will be introduced into the topic and then a simulation of reconstruction will be performed.
The event has to be relocated due to illness. The presentation will take place next thursday:

it’s time again for our yearly summer feast!
When? Thursday, 18 July 2019
Start? 6 pm
Where? In and outside of the “Nachbrenner”
The summer feast wil take place in cooperation with the “Nachbrenner” this year. The normal service of the “Nachbrenner” is guaranteed. So “normal” guests of the “Nachbrenner” are welcome of course!
The Team of the “Nachbrenner” will give out drinks as usual and ETK will offer something to eat (self-service BBQ will be closed).
At 5 pm the summer feast will start with a presentation of ITK Engineering: Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence & Cloud Computing.
Speaker will be Lennart Willms, perhaps in cooperation with Benjamin Passow.
After this presentation the ITK Student Award will be awarded.
When the presentation is over the summer feast will get started with cool drinks and grilled food (there will be something to eat for vegetarians and vegans, too).
On top of that there will be hand made music and beer/Schorle pong.
Dear students, staff and everyone who’s interested,
ETK invites you to our second presentation this year. The current topic is “Solar power plants- A potential global power supply”.
The topic is presented by Prof. Dr. Matthias Hampel from engineers without borders.
The presenation takes place on 08 May 2019 at 17:30, as usual in the Nachbrenner in the basement of building 11.
