Prof. Dr. Marco Pogacnik von der Universita Iuav di Venezia nimmt im Sommersemester 2015 die Peter Behrens Visiting Professur am Lehrgebiet Geschichte und Theorie der Architektur Professor Dr. Matthias Schirren wahr.

1989-1991 Marko Pogacnik worked in Milan in the redaction of the review "Ottagono" and 1994 he obtained the Ph.D. in History of Architecture at the the University IUAV in Venice.
1994-1996 he took part, as assistant curator of the Gallery of the Triennale, Milan, in the preparation of exhibitions of Architecture (Espressionismo e Nuova Oggettività, Giancarlo De Carlo, Giovanni Muzio, Giuseppe Terragni – Expressionisme and New Objectivity,, Giancarlo De Carlo, Giovanni Muzio, Giuseppe Terragni ) and from February 1998 he was university researcher at the University IUAV in Venice.
1998-1999 he was a DAAD Gastprofessor (visiting professor) at the Faculty of Architecture of the Fachhochschule of Potsdam; 2005-06 he was visiting professor in Dortmund and 2009-2011 in Innsbruck.

He held lectures and seminaries in many european universities: the Technical University of Graz (Austria), the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Universität of Aachen (Germany), the Academy of Architecture, Mendrisio (Swiss), the University of Geneva (Swiss), the University of applied arts in Vienna, the Faculty of Architecture of Cottbus (Germany), the ILEK in Stuttgart, the Technical University of Munich, the Technical University of Berlin, the TU Delft.

In September 2007 he acted as chairman in the commission for the Jurkovic Prize, Bratislava. In March 2008 he hold the Schinkel lecture, Potsdam. Invited by the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Seoul he partecipated in the jury of the competition for the new MoCA Seoul, january 2010.

Curator of the exhibition "Adolf Loos und Wien", Vienna, 2011-2012. He published about Adolf Loos, Karl Friedrich Schinkel, Adalberto Libera, Carlo Scarpa, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, C. Sitte, Th. Fischer, C-N. Ledoux, Fr. Gilly and G. Semper.
2014 he opened an exhibition within the Biennale Architettura in Venice: "Details: architecture seen in section" investigating the architectural language from the perspective of construction details.

He is currently professore associato for history of architecture at the University IUAV Venice and in charge for the research unit "Artedelcostruire", Iuav Venezia: www.iuav.it/artecostruire.
