Security measures after cyber attack on TUK infrastructures

Due to a cyber attack via the high-performance computing cluster Elwetritsch, various servers of the TUK's IT infrastructure have been compromised.

As primary precaution, it is necessary that all users of the TU Kaiserslautern change the password for their personal RHRK accounts.

Please use the password change page https://passwort.uni-kl.de exclusively for this purpose. Changes can only be considered if they are made after 13.5.2020.

RHRK will check in due course whether a password change has been carried out and reserves the right to block the accounts until the password has been successfully changed.

Please also inform your colleagues and fellow students about this measure.

Info for students: current information on access to QIS and KIS can be found here: https://www.uni-kl.de/pruefungsangelegenheiten/

The following general information will certainly be helpful for you:

More information about the attack can be found here:

The RHRK will only publish information on the attack on the TUK website.

Currently, phising e-mails on this topic are already circulating in parallel. Therefore, do not follow any links in the emails. Check the TUK homepage for the current situation first.

Note especially for SSH users:

SSH users are strongly encouraged to renew all private keys as a further security measure.
