December 2011: Third Working Session of ERMA

On Friday, the 16th of December 2011 the project partners met for the third working session within the joint project ERMA - Energy and resource efficient working machines. Main focus was put on the measurements performed on test vehicles on Wednesday, the 14th of December. Based on that optimization potentials were deduced and solution approaches for future mobile working machines narrowed down. [weiter]


November 2011: Relaunch of the New ERMA Homepage

The website of the Technical University Kaiserslautern, those of all associated research institutions and projects are completely re-designed. The web page of the ERMA joint project has received a new neat and modern design in the last few weeks also. With its significantly extended content, as long as the new layout and design the new website will allow easier and faster access to project specific informations. [more]


November 2011: CVC Annual Meeting with ERMA

At the invitation of the Center for Commercial Vehicle Technology (ZNT) at the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau the project partners presented the joint project “ERMA - Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines” within the frame of the CVC annual meeting on Thursday, November the 3rd 2011, in the Mercedes-Benz Plant of Daimler Inc. in Wörth. [more]


October 2011: Second Working Session of ERMA

On Friday, the 21st of October 2011, the project partners have met for second common working session within the joint project "ERMA - Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines". Central topics of the meeting were the current state of the project and possible potentials for optimisation. [more]


August 2011: Consortia Meeting by Volvo

On Wednesday, the 10th of August 2011, at the invitation of the Volvo Construction Equipement GmbH & Co. KG company the involved Institutes have visited the factory in Konz. In the program of the first consortia meeting within the joint project "ERMA - Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines" were alongside the test drive of the experimental machine also a workshop about energy and recourse efficient excavator conceps. [more]


June 2011: First Working Session of ERMA

On Monday, the 27th of June 2011, the project partners have met for the first common working session within the joint project "ERMA - Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines". Central topics of the meeting were the current state of the project and the cooperation with the associated partner. [more]


May 2011: ERMA in Sweden

At the invitation of the Volvo company the project partners have presented the joint project “ERMA - Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines” within the international Volvo researchers' meeting that took place from the 16th until the 17th of May 2011 in Sweden. [more] 


April 2011: ERMA in the Unispectrum Magazine

Energy and resource efficiency in the harsh use of machines on the construction site: four institutes are working together: KIMA (Chair of Design Engineering), MEGT (Institute of Machine Elements, Gears and Transmissions), MEC (Institute of Mechatronics in Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Technology) and VPE Institute of Virtual Product Development. Funded by the Foundation for Innovation Rheinland-Pfalz and using a mobile excavator of the Volvo CE company as a test machine new concepts and methods for improvement of energy and resource efficiency are being developed. [more]


March 2011: ERMA in the CVC News

Rising fuel prices, scarcity of fossil resources and raw materials and also the accelerated climate change due to CO2 emissions had have significant influence on the development in the automotive industry in the last years. Engine power and size are not most important for the client anymore, but rather the fuel consumption and alternative drive concepts. [more]


February 2011: ERMA Kick-off Meeting in Konz

On Friday, the 18th of February 2011, the project partners met for the common start of the Research Project "Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines". The company Volvo Construction Equipment GmbH & Co. KG was won as an associated partner for the joint project. [more]


January 2011: Approval of the project proposal ERMA

The Foundation for Innovation Rheinland-Pfalz approved the proposal of the research group for Product Development at the Center for Commercial Vehicle Technology of the Technical University Kaiserslautern for realisation of the proposal "ERMA - Energy and resource efficient mobile working machines". The joint project of the four research institutes starts at the 1st of February 2011 and has running time of three years. [more]
