Although beginning female students have much better chances to reach their career goals nowadays a gap in female and male presence at each qualification level becomes evident.  Consequently, the university looses female junior researchers during a scientific career, thus their excellence and creativity. It will take a great effort to change this trend and reach actual gender equality. With personnel and especially structural measures, the realization of gender equality (equal opportunities in lecture, research and management) in numbers and quality could be reached. Equality needs to be understood as a strategical task within the selfmanagement concepts and in lecture and research.
