Important note

The use of self-tests must not lead to a softening of the home office priority or to an increase in face-to-face practicals or other face-to-face events. The principle of digital working and digital teaching remains unchanged.

Corona self-tests for employees

The TUK provides its employees with the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Test of the company AESKU.RAPID within the scope of the implementation of the Corona-ArbSchV (https://www.aesku.com/).

Details on the exact procedure (procurement, issue, handling, etc.) can be found in the concept for the procurement and issue of Corona self-tests (PoC antigen tests) at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.

Information about the SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Test as well as its application can be found in the following documents or in the explanatory video:

Decision support Corona self-tests for employees

If my voluntary self-test is positive, I remain in segregation (test was performed at home) or go into segregation (test was performed at work). In both cases (1) I inform my supervisor, (2) report myself as a "suspected case" at the Corona reporting portal of the TUK and (3) immediately take care of a professionally conducted rapid test at a citizen test center*.

An overview of all Rhineland-Palatinate citizen test centers can be found here.

*cf. §6 - Self-Test, State Ordinance on the Segregation of Persons Infected or Suspected to be Infected with the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and their Household Members and Contacts From April 10, 2021.

If my rapid test (citizen test center) is positive (1) I go or remain in segregation*, (2) inform my supervisor and (3) report myself as an "index case" at the TUK Corona reporting portal. A report to the health department is made automatically by the respective citizen test center.

*cf. §2 - Segregation of Covid 19 disease suspects and positively tested persons, State Ordinance on the Segregation of Persons Infected or Suspected to be Infected with the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and their Household Members and Contacts From April 10, 2021.

If my voluntary self-test was positive and my rapid test (Citizen Test Center) is negative, (1) I inform my supervisor and report myself as "virus-free" at the TUK Corona Reporting Portal. Further segregation is usually no longer required.

Corona self-tests for students in face-to-face internships/present courses.

For classroom practicals/presentational events, the implementation of which is unavoidable on campus, the departments receive centrally procured corona test kits financed by the TUK through the central event management on the basis of a demand query.

Details on the exact procedure (procurement, issue, handling, etc.) can be found in the concept for the procurement and issue of Corona self-tests (PoC antigen tests) at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern.
