Research Initiative of the Federal State of Rhineland-Palatinate

Started in 2008, the Research Initiative of the Federal State of Rhineland-Palatinate provides a strategic instrument for research funding that allows the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern to independently develop its specific research profile. To further integrate engineering and natural sciences is one of the objectives in order to sustainably strengthen the university’s long term position in the German and international research communities. Two research centers and several research units were established in a competitive procedure.
