Region and City

Concepts and strategies for regional development

The members of the Region and City research project, a priority activity of the state, examine current issues in regional development at the community, regional, national, international levels.

The work comprises the analysis and assessment of current economic, environmental, and social developments with relevance for urban planning as presented for example, by demographic change, growing regional competition for business and population migration, the "Asia trend," or climate change.

This research platform serves to promote conceptual-scientific discussion as well as offering practical and policy advice. The aim is to develop concepts, strategies, and management approaches for sound urban development.
