Your application

For your application, TUK requires a written application from you, which you print out after the online application, sign and send us with the  necessary documents personally or by post within the application period.

In the winter semester 2018/2019, TUK takes part in the Dialogorientierten Serviceverfahren [dialogue-oriented service procedure] (DoSV) of the “Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung [University Admissions Foundation]” with these degree programmes.

Applying for the Teacher Training Course Biology (Bachelor) is still only possible via the Application Portal  of TUK (deadline was 15.07.2018).

If you want to apply within the framework of the DoSV, registration via the application portal  “hochschulstart.de” is required. Upon successful registration, you will receive an applicant ID and a so-called BAN (applicant authentication number).

The next step is to apply via the application portal of hochschulstart.de (“central application”).

Enter the required data and print out the application form for TUK. Please send your printed and signed form with the required documents to TUK by 15.07.2018 at the latest.

Please do not send any documents to hochschulstart.de.

In order to submit an auxiliary application, you have to first complete the application process via hochschulstart.de and send the above-mentioned documents to TUK. Subsequently, you can send us an  e-mail providing your applicant ID, name and date of birth and stating the degree programme you would like to be admitted to.

You can track the status of your application(s) and accept admission offers via the application portal of “hochschulstart.de”. You should therefore regularly check your account at “hochschulstart.de” in order to be able to accept the degree programme offered to you at an early stage.

FOREIGN APPLICANTS

You need to register and apply for the above-mentioned degree programmes via the application portal of hochschulstart.de if you are on an equal footing with German applicants in terms of admission.

Important notes concerning

A dual degree is defined as a programme in which two degrees are pursued in parallel in different degree programmes. The burdens of such studies are great and should be considered in advance and clarified, for example, in counselling interviews.

When applying, there is no separate field on the application form to enter a dual degree. After the printout, please handwrite that you wish to take a dual degree.

TUK offers various degree programmes graduating as Bachelor and Master of Education. These degrees are possible for the following types of schools:◾Vocational Schools◾Gymnasien [grammar school]◾Realschule Plus [secondary school]

In the Gymnasium and Realschule Plus degree programmes, you can choose the type of school during your studies. In the case of teacher training for vocational schools, on the other hand, this decision must be made upon application.
For a teacher training course, two subjects must be specified in the application. You will be automatically enrolled in the subject of educational sciences.

Information on the combination of subjects:
Subject combinations

If your desired combination of subjects is not completely offered by TUK, you can check the possibility of studying in the University Association Southwest. Therefore, the second subject would have to be offered at one of the participating universities.
Teacher training at TUK is supervised by the Centre for Teacher Training.

On 16.07.1999, the universities of Kaiserslautern, Koblenz-Landau, Saarland and Trier agreed to intensify their cooperation in the areas of teaching and study, further education and research.

Under this agreement, students can attend not only courses at their home university, but also courses at the other three universities under the existing admission conditions. This is intended to enable students to take advantage of supplementary degree programmes. The enrolment regulations are designed in such a way that the students of the four universities can enrol at the partner universities by enrolling as secondary students. However, the semester ticket at the place of the second enrolment is not included.

Coursework and examinations will be mutually recognised once equivalence has been established. Please check with your home university's examination office beforehand.

Please note:

Once you have submitted the online form, you can no longer change any data. Even after closing the application, you will no longer be able to call up your online application again.

If you have not printed out the application form after completing the online application, you can request the relevant form from the  StudierendenServiceCenter and complete it by hand. Please note your applicant number from the online application to prevent you being registered twice.

Form for chip card

If you have missed to enclose the annexe for the student chip card (with passport photo) with your application form, you can print it out here:

Important: Distance learning students do not receive a chip card by default and therefore do not have to submit this annexe.
