Language skills

To be successful in your studies, it is important and also a prerequisite that you meet the language requirements of the respective degree programme.

It is necessary for you to prove your knowledge of German if you wish to apply for a German-language degree programme.


Some Master's programmes and especially the International Master's programmes require proof of English language skills for admission. The exact requirements can be found in the  respective examination regulations .

The departments of Mechanical and Process Engineering and Economics offer integrated degree programmes in which degrees can be obtained both in Germany and in France.

You can obtain further information on these specific specialisations from the second semester onwards and, depending on the exchange programme, apply for them from the second or third semester onwards.

A good knowledge of French is a prerequisite for this. You should have had at least three years of French lessons at school and be prepared to improve your language skills to the level B2/C1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages for two semesters.
