SPIN+X member receives equal opportunity award 2017 of the University of Kaiserslautern
This award recognizes that Prof. Ziegler has succeeded in achieving full gender equality on all qualification levels within her group in compliance with the DFG equal opportunity standards. The thus achieved percentage of women in her group lies very much above the average level in physics. To this end, several measures have contributed which go way beyond her role model status as a female professor. Among individual employee meetings to foster personality development irrespective of the status, measures such as targeted career planning of all group members, the support of talented female students within workshops and mentoring programs as well as family friendly work time arrangements have been taken.
The price money will be used for the particularly successful measure to promote talented female students as student research assistants.
